Featherbrook College will organise learning programs based on the mandated state Victorian Curriculum and structured around a P – 2 (Early Years model), Years 3 / 4, Years 5 / 6, Years 7 / 8 and Year 9. Broadly Foundation, Breadth and Depth and Pathways.
The core curriculum areas of Literacy and Numeracy will be central to the College’s education provision and timetabled so that teaching teams can tailor their programs for each individual student.
Teachers will address the key learning areas of English and Mathematics in dedicated time allocations, along with specialist provision of Physical Education, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and LOTE Japanese, while drawing on an inquiry approach through the Inquiry Units to address other curriculum areas such as science, humanities, technologies and the capabilities. Teachers will plan and deliver digital technology provision through explicit instruction and through all curriculum areas.
