Update from the campers

09.05.2022

The following commentary has been supplied by the teachers on camp.

The chill of the morning could not stop the Year 4 students from being excited and nervous about coming to camp. Once loaded on to the buses and the small shouts as we arrived at Lady Northcote, the enjoyment was already in full swing. Morning tea allowed the students to explore the grounds and have a quick snack before heading to the cabins to set up for tonight, not that they'll be there for long!

Coming together for our camp expectations were showing safe, respect, high expectations and collaboration were the central themes of our discussions - as well as have fun! The first rotations allowed for the students to have the chance to work together in small groups, cook, build and laugh as they went through; orienteering, kitchen garden, bike education and low ropes to name a few. There were many happy faces when they found out there was an opportunity for “double dinner” when doing the kitchen garden and cooking pizzas. Spaghetti was on the menu for tonight, which went down a treat as there was more cutlery hitting plates than people talking. Dessert was also a hit for the students and a great way to end the first dinner here.
